Determining the authenticity and choosing the correct bird nests

Buying bird nests should never be based on the cost alone. You might be pleased with what you have bought at low price but oblivious to the quality of the product and its harmful effects after consuming them long term.

The DOs
1. Check the shape and its colour. No two bird nests are the same in shape and sizes. The colour of bird nests should be in ivory.
2. Check that the bird nests are natural and not chemically treated. If the bird nests look too perfect, the chances of it being chemically treated are high. Even if the reports shows that the chemical levels are way below the permissible levels set by authorities, it will still indicate certain chemicals are used. Example of one chemical is sulphur dioxide which is a bleaching agent.
3. Buy bird nests that are not coloured. 99% of the blood nests are dyed red colour.
4. Bird nests should be completely dry so that what you are paying for is the price for 100% weight of the bird nests. Not moisture content, jelly or glue.

Determining premium bird nests

Genuine bird nests are classified according to its shape and size, purity, the strands and the times that it can expand when soaked in water. These methods are also the ways to prove its authenticity. A lot of other brands come out with many names for classifying bird nests but ultimately, it still falls back to the above criteria.

Royal Bali Bird Nests are 100% pure bird nests. The strands expands 6 to 8 times after soaking in water as compared to other brands which ranges from only 2 to 6 times.
