nests are farmed, harvested and cleaned in Bali before they are imported to Singapore.

No preservatives or additives
~ Our bird nests use no preservatives or additives. What you see is what you get.

No colouring
~ Royal Bali Bird Nests have natural ivory coloured strands where the colour

consistency is uneven. Every piece is different and unique.

No bleaches
~ Bird nests do not come perfect. Spots or black specks are quite common on them

naturally and hence our bird nests might not look as pretty and every piece is different.
Note: Sulphur dioxide is present in some other brands’ bird nests and it is an indicator that bleaching agents are used, even when the content level falls below the permissible limit set. Hence, do not be fooled by companies who claimed that their sulphur dioxide level is way below the limit.

No jelly, glue or edible substitutes
~ Bird nests on its own are very fragile and can break easily into fine pieces. Royal Bali Bird Nests are 100% pure bird nests without jelly, glue and edible substitutes.
Note: Some brands use glue or jelly to add on to the weight of the bird nests and hold them together.

Zero moisture content
~ Our bird nests are very dry before we packaged it for you. Hence, the weight of the bird nests you bought from Royal Bali is 100% weight of the bird nests. Hence, you can store your bird nests at room temperature instead of in the fridge.
Note: Certain brands uses water by spraying it on dry bird nests to make them weigh heavier and that is one of the reasons why bird nests need to be store in the fridge.

We understand that quality assurance is of upmost importance to our customers and thus we had obtained several laboratory test results to verify the safety and quality of our bird nest products.

The first laboratory tests were conducted by SUCOFINDO. SUCOFINDO is a leading inspection institution in Indonesia which operates the most complete testing and analysis facilities that are capable in assuring product quality and product safety. The second laboratory tests were conducted by CMA Industrial Development Foundation Limited (CMA Testing), which is a leading independent quality assurance organization in Hong Kong. ​Strict QUANTITY Control
Why quantity control? A lot of other bird nests producers will quicken their harvest period so that they have the most bird nests in the shortest time for quick profits. At Royal Bali Bird Nests, this is not and never be our practice. We only harvest the bird nests when the eggs are hatched and swiftlets have abandoned their nests. The swiftlets will build new nests when it is time for another reproductive cycle. An illustration of the bird nests harvesting period is shown below.



The reason why our bird nests are more nutritious is because the swiftlets need to take in more food during their pregnancy and the saliva that they used for nests building thus contains more nutrients. Furthermore, we do not stress the swiftlets by harvesting earlier. It will take 4 months for the full process to be completed. To add on, we will only harvest bird nests that are used for hatching baby swiftlets. That also explains why our bird nests are bigger in size, with thicker strands and more nutritious.

Strict QUALITY Control

The way we clean our bird nests is strictly natural. We do not adopt the use of any kind of chemical or additives; i.e. neither bleaching, jelly, neither edible substitutes nor glue is used during the process. We only use filtered drinking water, hygienic plastic utensils (such as bowls, plates and molds) and stainless steel tweezers to clean the raw materials. Depending on the original texture of the bird nest pieces (light/heavy feathered), several methods were used during the cleaning. For example, certain bird nest pieces have ‘cushions’ which contain lots of fine feathers and dirt embedded among the strands, making them extremely difficult and time consuming to clean these ‘cushions’ while still intact with their main bodies. As such, we will lift these ‘cushions’ and clean them separately from their main body frames. Upon cleaning the body frames and the ‘cushions’, we will put the ‘cushions’ back to their original body frames. Should there be any kind of stain, we will attempt to remove the stain by slowly carving away the top layer of the bird nests that has been tainted. Nevertheless, should the stain remain persistent, we will not use any kind of bleaching agent to further lighten the stain. Rather, we will leave it as it is.
